Architecture. What is ‘good’ architecture? What does an architect do?

We believe that architecture is more than just the aesthetics of a finished building. Good architecture is functional, sustainable, comfortable, and ultimately provides a space that enhances day to day wellbeing.  But how do you get to this point?

As architects, we follow a common process to design and deliver a building project; and it requires both a creative and technical skillset.

Any proposed design solution must be considered within the constraints of the site, building and planning regulations, budget and sustainability concerns.  This requires a balancing act between creativity, practicality and organization.   Key to the success of this process is a good team.  An architect will sit at the core of this team, working collaboratively to propose creative design solutions, while also handling all consultants and being your go-between to simplify the process and reduce your stress levels.

An architect must be able to communicate and collaborate well in order to successfully expand on the vision you have for your future home or renovation.
